Beer Review - Brooklyn Brewery’s Savoir Faire by David Harris
2008 December 18
Brooklyn Brewery’s Savoir Faire, a Bier de Garde style limited offering from Garrett Oliver’s Brewmaster Reserve Series (just released now for December 2008), has a gold copper pour under a thin head with an aroma of buttered popcorn and fresh cut wet hay, with a very French buttery vegetable sweetness that is akin to an butternut squash crossed with acorn, with an almost imperceptible hint of orange zest, no aftertaste to speak of from this medium bodied brew though the finish is almost Bavarian in its slightly hop-bitterness. Interesting brew from a hit and miss brewery.
